The reality? If a PSEO student wants to attend Crown College or Northwestern, they are forced to sign Crown College or NW’s “statement of faith” - even if they are Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Lutheran, a nonbeliever, ….. That is a clear violation of 1st amendment rights.
#mnleg
BREAKING: We sued and Minnesota backed down! Just weeks after passing a law that targeted religious schools that asked their students to sign a statement of faith, Minnesota agreed to a court order tying its hands from enforcing the law while our lawsuit is pending.
Bravo, Senator McEwen!
It’s time. I am receiving more and more emails from constituents who want a ban on assault weapons. A buy back program and a ban on the sale of AR-15s make for a lot of common gun sense.
Too many senseless deaths. We don’t have to live this way.
Actually, we specifically crafted the legislation to make sure possession is NOT banned, only further sales. And we paired it with a buy-back. This is all about reducing the number of these war weapons out there. That’s all. Because it’s the guns.

DFL passed Universal Meals to feed all Minnesota children breakfast and lunch at school as well as expanding the K-12 Education Tax Credit. Reminder - you voted against both. And, Universal Meals was a stand alone bill on the House floor. Why didn’t you want to feed kids?

Let’s compare guns to motor vehicles. How ‘bout we start requiring all gun owners to do educational training, pass an exam, hold a license and purchase insurance. Let’s get insurance companies and their actuaries involved. And let’s stop subsidizing big guns.

It takes everyone to create a spectacle like that. The minority does not have a right to stop all bills from passing. The Republicans abused the rules, and Dems had a right to pass the supplemental budget.
GOP senators voting against the bonding bill year after year is not responsible leadership. We are now forced to craft a new bill using cash … but that will mean less money available for our state’s increasingly expensive infrastructure needs. Be better
