The freedom struggle in Chapel Hill, North Carolina is inspiring because there are so many people who have sacrificed for the greater good. It is also disheartening because so much remains the same in this Company Town, dominated by the oldest public university, UNC.
On this day in 1963, Lincoln HS students led a march to protest segregation in CH. They started out at St. Joseph's CME church and proceeded down Rosemary and Franklin Sts. Check out the Freedom Fighters Gateway, honor the legacy & join the struggle for housing justice today.
