Mum turned 80 yesterday. She was a cool mum & I miss her unconventionality, energy, creativity, her practical nature & yes I suppose - even her stubbornness!!!, Most of all I really miss her voice. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Happy Birthday Jeanne Little. #Alzheimers

@BrendaJ69492764 Yes, yes and yes. A lot happened after my father died… the house suddenly smelled like sandalwood incense several times - my x-husband was totally spooked and I was laughing saying, ‘Oh you’ve never been haunted before!’ It was fab.

@pen844744 @BrendaJ69492764 Same I had a radio turn on in a car once coming back from a funeral. Hadn’t even put the key in the ignition yet. (It was the old days before all the fancy gadgets 🩷)

@vrachelv9 @BoneJeni Yes I hear you, neurodiversity in our family too! I am thrilled my daughter is now thinking of doing her hsc at tafe next year… I thought her education was cactus - I’ve always been buoyed by the fact she has a good work ethic!

@vrachelv9 @BoneJeni My Ms 17 also supports! She went through atrocious years resulting in self harming and dropping out of school! Saw the affect it had on her older brother too who ended up with major depressive disorder ‘doom scrolling’ and left home to get access to his addiction.

I think social media is so powerful on both macro/global & micro - local community/mental health levels… governments or authorised non-profits should build and run them for the people.
People need to accept the fact that democracy can never exist while Billionaires control all the methods of mass communication.

My 17yr old daughter agrees with this, and so do I - god knows how they’re gonna police it, but the damage social media has wreaked in our family is too enormous - physical health, mental health, education sacrificed, relationships irrevocably broken…
A minimum age for social media of 16 years will make a difference.

@GrogsGamut I’m actually thrilled the govt is doing something to help parents with this - social media is like policing crack cocaine - education, sleep, manners, physical health, mental health, relationships - out the window. Parents need help desperately.
