Idk what double standards you're talking about but Jenny Nicholson levies criticism against the film. She doesn't just say "I don't like it" she says it's bad for a number of reasons, reasons that they point out are incorrect.
They also use her video to talk about other topics.

No one said disabled. Personally I think my mother (a massive nerd for fantasy stories) would love Dark Souls. However, she's never been a gamer, and doesn't have the time or patience to get good at a game like it. Making the game more accessible would let her enjoy it.

The best part of this thread is the fact that it doesn't justify its position what-so ever. It basically just says "It's different" in four different paragraphs without ever showing a single difference.
"You wouldn't get it" isn't an argument when you've said nothing else.
I know they mean this as a dig but if these kids actually learn to "make this make sense" they will learn a lot about the difference between good character design and great character design in the process
