If you heard sirens and saw lights coming down 12th Street, it was the least we could do to honor the life of a DC Correctional Officer who sadly passed away last week and lived in Laurel. Our hearts and prayers are with the family of this hero as they mourn his loss.

This little girl made our morning. She wanted to talk to Sgt. Boswell and PFC Jackson as she walked past the station this morning. So we gave her a sticker badge and made her an honorary member of our Community Policing team for the day.

Our officers had the distinct opportunity to meet baby Angeline Bailey after helping to deliver her on the side of the road. Mommy and baby are all healthy and happy and we found out she has a special nickname of “Sandy” since she was born on Sandy Spring Road!

UPDATE ON THE FOUND DOGS: They've been returned to the owner!
A couple of uniforms need washed and a cruiser needs cleaned, but the dogs were kept warm and fed until the owner called in. We will miss our little buddies 😭😭😭

Even when our Community Policing Unit is just trying to pick up a quick lunch, they are still working to keep the community safe. While at Harris Teeter (Laurel, MD) they were able to prevent a theft in progress and prevent all of his merchandise from being stolen!
