It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of department member, FF/HVO Brad “Boobah" Scott. Brad has been a warrior in his battle with cancer, but has now been called home to rest. Please keep the entire Scott family in your thoughts during these trying times.
Our hearts are heavy over the loss this weekend of Firefighter, Brad Scott. For the past 13 years, he dedicated his life as a public servant and heroic first responder.

Nicholas, 11 years old, had collapsed due to unknown reasons while at karate class. 9B performed high-performance CPR and other life-saving measures. Nic and his family stopped by Station 9 today to meet the firefighters and paramedics involved.
Congratulations to Lt. Carlton Saunders on your retirement after 30 years with the dept! Lt. Saunders was a part of the Office of the Fire Marshal, and over the course of his career he worked with K9 Jet, the Juvenile Fire Setters program and other forms of public education.

helped this dog this morning during the College Square, Columbia kitchen fire. The dog is in stable condition.
This past weekend, crews were dispatched for a motor vehicle collision near Rt. 1 in Elkridge. Lt. Wilson was able to retrieve a dog from one of the vehicles involved. Thankfully, the dog was only shaken up and not injured. Lt. Wilson made sure the dog was returned home safely.

Five years ago, the 2016 flood occurred in Ellicott City. We will never forget the souls lost, and we will never forget the enormous amount of community support that followed.
Willie, a hound/lab mix rescue, was chasing animals when he got stuck under a deck in the 3400 block of Blackberry Ln in West Friendship. Personnel worked to safely remove him and he was happily reunited with his brother and family.
