@tachyontester @MelonsinmyAttic @kiikazuu @airbagged1 P.3 (fin) What I am saying is, it matter to why representation happens in games. Ticking boxes leads to forced DEI and bad games, bad stories, bad characters. And the people behind this movement literally hate me and people who look like me, all because I am a man with white skin

@tachyontester @MelonsinmyAttic @kiikazuu @airbagged1 P.2 There have literally been posts FROM DEI CONSULTANTS that show a hate for straight white men, and so they forced DEI in games. Good example, one game might have a full black cast of characters. Seems tame enough. But it was made that way because they hate whites. Not a joke

@tachyontester @MelonsinmyAttic @kiikazuu @airbagged1 P.1 I will also say im a 'straight white man'. That seems to have a lot of stigma to say these days too. Why? Because I exist and have a different count of melanin in my skin. The issue with games trying to just be naturally diverse is that many companies use it to virtue signal

@tachyontester @MelonsinmyAttic @kiikazuu @airbagged1 Agreed! It is unfortunate yes. However, DEI consultation groups have FORCED that skepticism on gamers because of its prominence and UNNECESSARY nature. My favorite game is The Last of Us. Ellie? She's lesbian. Her coming out DLC? It was beautiful. It was not forced to tick boxes

@gameniteonfire As for the conman stuff, I have heard this once earlier but I cannot find anything on it, so I will just need to admit im uninformed of the topic. I am not sure what the 'keeping people stupid' refers to either, but assume that is your stance on his opinions being made public.

@gameniteonfire hmm, I think I can both agree and disagree He works in predicting problems, with DEI and such being a bad direction for games (not representation, just DEI initiatives) Rage baiting..? It's his truth, as is yours, which makes people mad when they can't stomach a different opinion

@Shinjisake @MelonsinmyAttic @kiikazuu @airbagged1 I can see how you may see it as DEI is just hated for the sake of it, however it is not the case as forced DEI in games have come across as stereotypes and misrepresentation in many types of media. Example, Taash from veilguard: "so.. im non-binary now" Makes for bad writing

@Shinjisake @MelonsinmyAttic @kiikazuu @airbagged1 Sorry for late reply, researched it! Looks like it was caught in the DEI crossfire for working with Sweet Baby Inc. Which this consultation company has been involved in MANY controversies in the past year or more. It is unfortunate his game tanked though, but SBI was the target

@JeanHatchet As a former bartender, I can tell you at face value she did nothing wrong. The AMOUNT of times I have cut off drunk or belligerent people who were given more drinks by their friends is awful. Face it, customers dont care if bartenders get in trouble if they get one more drink!!

@gameniteonfire @SpookiLord @kiikazuu Can you explain yourself more thoroughly? As in, instead of making a ploy at a joke or an insult, can you explain why that is the case? Also, your deflection to the problem being the man does nothing to extinguish the problem in DEI consultation in video games. Help me out here

@DaiGurrenCobalt @SpookiLord @kiikazuu Oh really? Genuinely, could you please reference what you're claiming because I haven't heard of this. And please do be sincere, if you're making a claim that he is racist, I am sure you have some kind of evidence in mind to back it up. If that is the case, I will agree with you

@deed_deeds @BakerTeee @DavidH_26 @EVERALDATLARGE @abcnews Sorry mate but that is a lot of words that do not address the fact that her stance was racially charged. It was a racial remark, not joking or satire in any way either. It was inherently racist to depict someone as being 'lesser than' for being of a particular race, full stop

@maymaycrusader @kiikazuu Rev, I haven't seen a gaming stance of his that I disagree with. And even then, his content is informative and (with bias albeit) shows all relevant information. His opinion differing from you does not make him an incel, or other (harmful) words. Hope you learned something too..

@grizzledcroc @DaiGurrenCobalt @SpookiLord @kiikazuu The cancel parades I'm guessing are when he brings light to an issue in the gaming world, so I won't humor that one Games journalists literally were backed to run a smear campaign against traditional gamers though? As for the kickstart and his site, I'm not aware of those so idk

@maymaycrusader @kiikazuu lol. I mean, I watch Rev videos a lot. Idk about any other media or content, but I am aware he has a wife?? I thought an incel was someone who couldn't sleep with women?? Not being funny here, I just never get that argument. Either way, thanks for the chat, I found it productive

@maymaycrusader @kiikazuu -But I do not hate anybody. I just want fluent videogames that won't snowball into forced political agendas down the road, so contesting it now is necessary so politics are not forced into my hobby. Representation is games which wish to do so is fine, but not as forced criteria

@DaiGurrenCobalt @MelonsinmyAttic @kiikazuu @airbagged1 Diverse experiences, equal opportunity and inclusive stories. Both on paper and in practice, it prohibits fluid storytelling and world building by setting lists that devs MUST meet. Whether it be the world itself or needing to implement characters with backgrounds that dont fit

@MelonsinmyAttic @kiikazuu @airbagged1 Ticking a box is never a good idea. Remember Taash from Veilguard? "so.. i'm non-binary now" "nobody likes being a woman" 20's in a dark fantasy world but dresses defining them as a woman is their focus. Ticking a box won't ALWAYS lead to bad stories, but it leaves the door open
