@DanielLurie In much less time than it took you to compose and post all that jibber-jabber, you could have simply instructed the SFPD to enforce the law.

@Jonnynono Stockholm syndrome. No matter how great New York is, that doesn’t make everything in it great. What are you going to defend next, bedbugs? Also, compared with more advanced countries, New York’s transportation options are pretty mediocre.

@LiamBlank Both cities are more like 100 years late and an embarrassment to an allegedly rich and advanced society.

@MissionLoco The city chose to turn its public spaces over to addicts and criminals. Cars driving past might create an illusion of life, but nobody in their right mind would get out to look around or shop. Make the streets safe and inviting and they'd be packed with people, cars or no cars.

@esaagar Obviously Canada and Mexico need to greatly increase direct trade with each other. And both countries should make arrangements with China, a more stable and reliable partner that would no doubt be happy to help them develop their infrastructures.

@buccocapital Simple: cancel the 100% tariffs Canada dutifully installed on Chinese cars back when being America’s lapdog still looked like a good bet. Chinese EVs are so much better and cheaper that Elon would struggle to sell more than a handful of his overpriced clunkers.

@MPelletierCIO Disruptive? Sure, but not in a good way. Innovative? I.e., going back to a 1950s fossil fuel economy? Fastest growing? That would be India or China. The US, like all Trump’s enterprises, will massively inflate via borrowing, then go bankrupt. Canada would be mad to buy into it.

Now might be a good time for those abolish-the-government folks to explain who’s going to be in charge of air traffic control.

@OG_Artur_W @afshinrattansi I’ve been to Guangzhou half a dozen times; sounds like you’ve never laid eyes on the place. It’s beautiful and I love it, though there are other Chinese cities even more amazing, and it’s infinitely safer than any American city I’ve ever visited (and I’ve visited most of them).

@LandOfEndeavors @Factschaser Even better, imagine it being pulled by a team of oxen. But most people prefer the future to the past.

@ZhangTaisu The United States is totally in favour of competition as long as no one else is allowed to win. That’s what “totalitarian” actually means.

@Morgan_C_Ross Assuming the eggs on the right are priced in Canadian $, that’s 3 bucks American. Not that I care, really. I can’t remember the last time I bought eggs - a dozen years ago, maybe? - and was startled to learn that their cost was an overriding issue to millions of people.

@CrimeInNYC I'm not sure how well thought out this is. Couldn’t crooks follow a customer around until he opens a cabinet, then empty the cabinet and take the customer's phone for good measure? If they're not in a hurry, they could then use the phone to open the rest of the cabinets.

@Darkheyr @daily_chime @OJoelsen I’d say worse than Russia. The Hitler-Hirohito axis is a more appropriate analogy.
