Can you respect people who opposed the new stadium because of the rushed sloppy plan, shoddy financials, lack of community engagement and no legally binding community benefit agreement?

I can respect people who opposed a new stadium because they live close to the K. I have friends like this. But if you’re opposition centered around defending this under-utilized and decaying stretch on the outskirts of the crossroads, you’re just dumb.

How about instead of this strongly worded tweet, you use the power.of your office and call a press conference, telling the folks of KC how the Royals and Chiefs have not held up their side of the deal and vocally oppose this ballot measure, maybe apologize for pushing it through?

#kansascity let me be crystal clear about something. The @Chiefs and the @Royals have NOT earned my support or endorsement for April. I vowed to get this effort to the ballot, so people can decide. So far, we have kept our end of the deal and now it’s time for the teams to earn

@Royals @nlbmprez bulldozing small businesses for the profits of billionaires is not carrying on the spirit of the negro league... at least not the history we should celebrate. This project does not reconnect the city. It's a bummer you and the Negro League are on board with this.

One can be pro-sports, pro-downtown stadium, pro-current sales tax that goes through 2031 and still be anti-this particular vote given the rollout, failure to disclose full information, and lack of transparency. It’s good to ask the why questions — get to roots of reasons.🤷🏻‍♀️
