@MichaelFKane You could certainly make a gun that works in vacuum. A lot of parts don't need to be metal at all.

@whataimeereads_ For my main series, each book gets a working title right up front. I typically change it to something with better searchability when I publish. Gamma Coin was originally Dateless, which was a reference to the sub-plots mirroring each other. Take Down Request was Sightless.

@L0m3z Some political decisions function if you compromise. Many either have no compromise, or the middle ground is worse than the other side getting everything they ask for.

@NatalieKelda The population of people who simply don't want obscene scenes is much larger than the population of asexual people.

@TheMiddleborne I for one enjoy slop. I need slop after I've slogged through a non-fiction research book for example.

@MorlockP Its not even that we're getting rid of pennies. USD can be tracked to any precision you want if you're using a spreadsheet. The question is what do you want to physically produce.

@MichaelFKane Subversion is great fun as an author, but I agree many stories change aspects without thought. Ive got a draft where orcs are intelligent. The intent is that showing their rationality in fact makes them more evil rather than mere beasts. Had someone complain about it....

@0ldSch00l13 @LibertyCappy Silver is the bane of supernatural evil. However, upon checking, modern mirrors actually do still use silver as the primary reflecting surface.

@TArchcast @RealLifeFakeWiz What's with the attitude that there aren't independent alternatives?

@marilynmaupin @mcahogarth If you find somebody writing to that level without slowing down, that is to say they could not get the book done sooner by reducing complexity, you have found an anomaly that should be studied for the benefit of science
