Have you guys seen the Doom Eternal mod that lets you play Slayer vs Slayer duels? It's pretty fun - the slayer's crazy mobility opens up so many options, and some of the weapon combos can be devastating. It feels like a 3D FPS fighting game in some sense.

I got an Azeron Cyborg a month or two ago and have been practicing getting better with it in Doom Eternal by learning some of the fun speedrun routes. Getting better with it - this device is wild (joystick for movement, but mouse for aim on other hand). 😄

I've been saying this for years. Unlimited range burst hitscan is too strong. People get stuck in this mindset where they think it's required to balance a game, but the reality is that eliminating those weapons just opens up a lot of other opportunities for balance.
Shooters ruined by snipers:
- quake (rail)
- cs (awp)
- apex (longbow)
- overwatch (widow, hanzo)
- valorant (operator)
- fortnite (all snipers, special mention for the heavy)
- cod (all snipers)

I put together a little guide explaining how to play with/against high ping in FPSs (Quake Champions in mind, but it applies to a lot more) . Main inspiration has been seeing all of QC Challenger league games with NA vs SA or NA vs AU.

DE's advanced movement tech is pretty damn cool. I'm getting better at it, and it reminds me of some of the best movement parts of QuakeWorld (air control) and Smash Melee (wavedashing). Using this stuff mid-combat is such a joy too :D

Punch canceled rockets are pretty hard to do consistently. The timing is really finnicky - if you try to do it too fast on any given shot, it comes out faster but ends the combo.

Are any game developers considering embracing the asymmetric devices by making gameplay between the two asymmetric too? Honestly, I don't think you can balance any game for joystick vs mouse aim if both sides have access to the same physics/characters/weapons.

Doom Eternal is so damn fun. I wish I had more time to learn the strategies for later game arenas, but executing any of them correctly with advanced tech just feels amazing. (The top of the screen is a timeline of my inputs, which is a great way to visualize the tech)

These scenarios are fantastic for decoupling your aim from movement. Movement-Based-Scoring is so underutilized across the workshop - very happy to see more great examples of it :)

I've been using glass mousepads for the last 4+ years and absolutely love them. Skypad 2.0 is one of my favorite pads, but it isn't quite as smooth as a previous custom glass pad that I use too... I'm very excited to see how the new 3.0 comes out!

Could use a signal boost on this. Raw accel is not a bannable app for Valorant (or anything that we've encountered) - the people who claim they were banned for using raw accel were using cheats and are trying to deflect.
Just want to say that the anti-cheat does not ban you for using RawAccel, it has abuse cases but we do NOT ban it.
The people who make these TikToks got caught using private/public cheats and are mad about it so they have to spread misinformation like that to everyone.

Btw, is it just my system, or does AimLab have twice the input lag that my game does? I measured ~10ms input latency (button click to change on screen) in my game, and ~20ms input latency in Aimlab. Would love to see more people testing.

czm was definitely the biggest esports influence on me - I fully credit him as being the person who got me interested in competitive shooters. Watching him play Quake back in the late 90's on 150+ ping was inspiring, and he opened my eyes to a new world of shooters. HBD Paul💖!

The demo to this game was fantastic. Might turn out to be my favorite indie game from 2022 - think of it as a mashup between Doom Eternal (fast paced combat) and Hades (roguelite progression). Can't wait to play the new content!

I'm an old Quake player who was competitive from 2001-2008, and recently I made an aim trainer that's on Steam for $10. High tier FN players have been playing it to practice their aim and seem to like it, which makes me happy :).

I'm a bit washed up these days. My best years were 2003-2008 or so when I was near/at the top of the North American Quakeworld scene and won a few tournaments. I can still outaim most people in multiplayer games (esp with tracking), but not nearly as good as I used to be.

I've been to a lot of gaming conventions (mostly Quakecons, but a few Dreamhacks and other such LANs for comp games), but this was my first time going to GDQ. Being there for a full week was quite an experience, and I'm immensely glad I went! 1/

If you are creatively having a bad brain day, try getting more sleep or a nap.
On most days that I "feel like I have exhausted my talent/potential" or "feel like I am a failure"...Teah has to remind me the I only slept a few hours the night before or all week.

No exceptions for ectopic pregnancies which means women will die. Also no exceptions for rape and incest which means women will be forced to endure ongoing trauma and carry the child of their abuser.

In 2007-8 while working at Circuit City, I brought in a USB stick with a bunch of Quake 3/Live frag videos and put them in a looping playlist on a display/gaming PC. It drew some nice attention :D
In 2008 I installed original DOOM on a thin client pc used to ring up customers at Guitar Center. I finished all 3 episodes on nightmare while having one of the better performing sales days of that year for myself.
No one knew a thing and it was awesome.

Disappointed that the Darktide beta lacks both a sensitivity slider/setting as well as an invert mouse setting. I know I could use raw accel to tweak my curve and invert mouse across my OS, but I really don't want to do that. Will sit this beta out unless they add those.

Heads-up to all of the people new to my game - we run weekly mini-competitions with 3 different scenarios at a time of people trying to grind high scores. Top 3 scores in each scenario get "certified aim beast" gold name in the game's Discord server :).

at the level of a clicking "Master" by the Voltaic Benchmarks. Took about two months of work, but we've achieved a good milestone! Keep training, don't stop. I've maintained 50cm/360 My entire two years on Kovaaks.

Ha. FWIW, the anime DLC was cooking since 2022, and I didn't know the aim trainer was going to make its way back into my hands until very late last year. We released it as a supporter pack, but our efforts going forward are laser focused on things we know the community will love.
