Even the Borrego Badlands received over half an inch of rain in the last storm, with closer to an inch or more in the western part of the valley. There were rainbows, flowers, and mountain snow views this morning (Photo: Sicco Rood).

It appears to be a good year in Anza-Borrego Desert for sand plants (Pholisma arenarium), that was seen various times last week in sandy areas of creek beds. It is parasitic on the roots of nearby shrubs. They are small (just a few inches) so are easy to miss (Photos: Sicco Rood)

@YesnelyFlores 100% yes. Plan as much as you like, but it never solves the problem. The ground shifts beneath your feet, unpredictably, and suddenly you're in scramble mode again. I'll let you guess who is causing the ground to shift.
