No, absolutely not. The majority of storyboards SHOULD NOT be this level of polished. This is basically key frame animation and having so much detail early on causes a lot of problems down the pipeline especially for editors, revisionists, and animators.
Please tell me this isn’t the industry’s standard of storyboarding now, we’re FINISHED

I'm not saying this guy isn't talented and an incredible artist, but it's a harmful mindset to call this 'storyboard' when it's clearly a fully animated sequence. Storyboard artist don't need to animate- we just provide solid blueprints and trust the animators to do the rest.

A film doesn't need to be talked about constantly to be an excellent film, especially when social media goes through so many cycles of content in a short period of time. It's a simple but charming story, and there's content and fan activity if you go looking for it.

Got this heartbreaking news this morning Noggin was one of the few places to have constant freelance work for artists and created lots of wonderful content for young children. I worked with the amazing team last year during my unemployment. I hope the best for the entire team.💔
Paramount just made a TON of money broadcasting the Super Bowl. They just shuttered all of Noggin.

The fact that the Amazing Digital Circus has garnered so much attention in such a short amount of time is an incredible feat. Is it also proof that indie animated Youtube projects are becoming big players in the animated industry, a feat that Hazbin/Helluva helped pioneer. ✨
The Amazing Digital Circus has officially surpassed not only 60 million views, but the view count of Helluva Boss' pilot as well, a view count it got in three years, in just THREE WEEKS.
This isn't saying either pilot is better than the other, btw, it's just very impressive!

This comes from the fact that Disney denied a theatrical release of 3 original (and quite excellent) Pixar films, tried to rely on a franchise spinoff film (Lightyear) to get people back, failed and lost a lot money due to THEIR OWN decisions and now are punishing Pixar for it.
Pixar will undergo significant layoffs in 2024.
As many as 20% of employees could be laid off but Pixar says the number is still to be determined.

It's definitely great for pre-vis and especially for animation. In fact, it's absolutely incredible for a rough animation pass! But as a storyboard, especially one that might need a few more passes, it'd be difficult for animatic editors and revisionist to work on.

I'm excited to finally announce that starting on Monday, I will be making my debut as a director on season 2 of "Santiago of the Seas"! Season 1 of Santiago marked the beginning of my industry storyboard artist career and I'm so happy it will be the one that begin directing on!🏴☠️

This is the harsh and sad reality for most animated series right now. Studios take so long between season greenlights that it's hard to get all the same crew back since they've had to move on to other projects.😔 Sometimes a season greenlight will take from 6 months to a year.
LRT that’s what’s so disappointing about the hold on Moon Girl’s S3 greenlight. Storyboards and writers have moved on, I think design and production folks are getting ready to roll off too. Moon Girl is great because of the specific crew members.

This is very incorrect. Nickelodeon (last within the last decade) only greenlights one season of a show at a time. Sometimes, it will take a year after a second season has completed and the crew has moved on for a new season is picked up.

This is so true. My last full-time union position ended last October. Since then I've gotten a bit of freelance here and there, but it's been rough, scary, and heartbreaking time for all folks in animation.💔
This article doesn't even mention that pre-strike, studios gutted their animation slates. Many of our kin have been out of work for a year. They could pick up more anim shows - we are not affected by the strikes completely - but they haven't.
