Currently feel like weβve actually had this done to us! No hot water cistern or hot water on the patient tea trolley on our ward. We have ONE 6xcup kettle to use for our acute surgical ward and admissions unit for patients and staff, which our Ward Clerk brought us! @NHSMillion
I remember crying with relief when someone made me a cup of tea one day, because it was the first thing Iβd drunk in 10 hours during a 12.5hour ICU shift. It meant 5 mins off the shop floor to take a second to breathe and look after myself, before I went back to my patient.

@CharlotteNHSRN @NoContextBrits None of this stuff lasts long enough in our house to make it to a cupboard or fridge!

@CharlotteNHSRN At least itβs not as bad as the old favourite βtrainedβ and βuntrainedβ which still gets banded around far too often!

@jtrebach I had a young (40 years) patient with a very concerned 8yo son. I hot him to do his dads obs. He was overjoyed and seemed to relax instantly that we werenβt all that scary π

@StN_Freda There needs to be a senior staff nurse role. To encourage those amazing nurses who donβt want to go into management to stay on the wards and train new staff, offer great specialised care, and share their knowledge We need these assets on the wards and we need to recognise them
