Juneteenth marks the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and is a time to honor those who were wrongfully enslaved in our country and support ongoing efforts to expand racial justice and equity in Michigan. Happy Juneteenth Freedom Day!

May 1st is #InternationalWorkersDay, a day that began in the Midwest when workers in Chicago went on strike to call for the 8-hour workday we consider to be the norm today. The movement has blossomed into a call for action for worker’s rights and today we celebrate.
