Karen first started as 20 acre plots. The plots gradually reduced to 10 acre, 5 acre, 2.5 acre then finally one acre plots, as the minimum plot size. Some zones in Karen are now at half an acre. Things do change. Development and change however, must be structured!

Karen showed up in their large numbers at the @KenyaRailways_ public participation forum to discuss the proposed railway line from Ngong’ to Riruta passing through Karen. Question remains: How will Karenites benefit off of this project? #TheKarenWeWant @SCSLearningNBI

Refusal to engage Neighborhood Associations or Professional bodies that want to assist financially or offer expertise sends the wrong message and only creates mistrust or resistance. @Arch_KE

Studies have shown that urban forests provide numerous benefits, including improved air quality, reduced urban heat island effect, stormwater management, carbon sequestration, wildlife habitat, and aesthetic value. To a more serene Karen, let's preserve our trees #WorldForestDay

@gabrieloguda Unplanned development is not allowed in Karen. We are the only neighborhood in Kenya with a Local Physical Development Plan. Development must follow this Plan.

Wueeh, this meeting was 🔥. I think the @KenyaRailways_ staff needed a stiff drink afterwards. There's already a railway from Ngong to CBD and from Limuru to CBD via Riruta. Why not extend SGR to Naivasha? @Emma999Too @JerotichSeii @Alfayaz11 @SakajaJohnson

On the law/orders being applied in regard to Riparian Land in Nairobi at the moment, the same should be applied to ALL areas of Nairobi in equal measure!

Runda residents have formed a crisis committee after 8 areas flooded with people "marooned" in their homes. But some of the expensive properties in this exclusive Nairobi neighborhood are also built on riparian land - illegally

Karen preserves its serenity by maintaining its trees and forests. #DYK , trees not only enhance the area's beauty but also act as natural air filters, absorbing pollutants like carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen, thus improving air quality and reducing urban pollution.
