This year @SakajaJohnson is focused on the city transformation agenda. Top of the Governors' agenda is bringing order in the city through different initiatives, which include; 1. Weekly Cleaning exercises in the Cbd “Our priority is to ensure this city is clean” said Governor Sakaja. There have been four major street cleaning initiatives in the CBD, undertaken on Sunday nights led by the governor himself and members of the County executive. This is expected to continue. The exercise will soon be rolled out in other areas outside of the CBD. The 3,500 green army have been employed by the county and are cleaning the city daily– they have been allocated different areas to clean, this includes; unclogging drainages, street sweeping. The cleaning is expected to move to sub-counties, including greening of the city. In January, 2025, Governor Sakaja flagged off 24 Refuse Compact trucks (used to be called cameros)– to collect garbage across the city. LazimaiWork!
