TRAFFIC ADVISORY: All major roadways near Bothell/Mill Creek/Kenmore/Shoreline/Everett/Edmonds...are experiencing heavy snow and numerous spin-outs, collisions, and really heavy traffic volumes. The traffic map is lit up red and black in these areas = real slow.

It's fair to say we haven't seen consistent heavy traffic like this since before the pandemic. The Amazon return to work, now in it's second week, is really having an impact. The lake bridges have not been like this in forever.

Rough start to our morning. Car fire blocking a lane NB 5 at 27nd. EB 90 is closed 10 miles east of Snoqualmie Pass for fatal crash. SB 5 on ramp from 200th in SeaTac partially blocked for a fatal crash investigation.
And the I5 express lanes haven't opened yet.

: A trooper stopped this driver on SR 16 after the vehicle was observed to be completely covered in snow. The driver received a $553 ticket for negligent driving in the 2nd degree.
Please take the time to remove all snow from your vehicle before you leave the house.

Note, Deputy Corn has his hands out of his pockets to help brace his fall. I have seen too many people scootin' across icy sidewalks and crosswalks with hands in their coat pockets. Most likely you won't be able to get your hands out in time to brace yourself. Be safe out there.

Panel 3 is the least understood rule in all of this. It is OK to pass going the opposite way with 3 or more lanes. Just go slow and be aware.

If Seattle CM Mike O’Brien wants to expand camera enforcement to ticket drivers who block the box. To be fair, Seattle would need to ticket buses which break the same law, and ticket jaywalkers who make it impossible to turn.
