"Teach & evaluate listening skills"
Why respect is a massive issue at work. Research shows that for employees, “feeling respected” is 17.9 times more powerful a predictor of an organisation’s overall culture score than the average factor (& almost twice as strong as the 2nd most important factor, supportive leadership). As leaders, we may show disrespect repeatedly in seemingly small ways that have a very negative impact on people & culture, eg, by showing disregard for others’ effort, expertise, time or failing to include them. Three strategies: 1) Make "multitasking" an unacceptable behaviour 2) Treat other people’s time like gold 3) Teach & evaluate listening skills By Jim Detert in @mitsmr. Graphic by @gapingvoid.

Twitter still has beauty and kindness, and I'm very happy to read this thread as I have been considering leaving the platform. Strength and solidarity to both kids and adults!
A short story about #grief, healing & blending families... My late-wife was Belgian. She would always speak to the children in Dutch. After she died 5 years ago, my son stopped speaking her language. I guess it was too painful. 1/5
