Urutau development update: most of development is done, only things that need testing to finish the gun design are hammer durability in fully automatic mode and bolt design. from there is work in documentation. only promise I can make is that the release will be on 2024.

Yesterday marked a significant milestone for the Urutau. After much testing, we polished the last aspect that required improvement. With this, the final CAD for the Urutau release is now cemented. We're officially moving into the documentation phase. Stay tuned for more updates!

Testers who built both are saying that the Urutau is easier to make than the FGC-9, we'll see if its true on the final release.

Thanks to everyone who has been asking for updates. Documentation is about halfway done, progress is steady. Design-wise, the entire gun is finalized, but we are also working on DIY hammer springs. Official release date will be revealed hopefully later this month.

The Urutau was a joint project with chatrooms on both Gatalog and AWCY?, but since the beta on AWCY? was a bit dead I asked the guys there to move to the Gatalog chat room. Sorry if i made the mistake of thinking that AWCY? was still cool with releasing it. 1/2.

Yes, AWCY? did collaborate early on in the Urutau's development. No, we did not endorse any of the advertisements for it, or agree to have our copyrighted logo in them. No, our position on the gatalog and stark has not changed at all.

The DIY gang is pleased.
This is the PM-1 Fire Control group.
It's a 3D printable fire control group that only uses compression springs, plus an M4 bolt and nuts for reinforcement. It works in AR15s, FGC-9s, etc.

Found a super early Urutau CAD, I don't even know how old this is, only clue is that it is from before the FGC-9 mk2 release as per the mk1 ejector style. This unlocked a memory of me spamming "mk2 when" in chat so I could see how they made the mk2 ejector cover design.

Urutau update: the parts that need testing to wrap the final CAD are almost done, the hammer (that is printed) is confirmed to work on the semi and full auto regime. the new bolt is ~90% tested. ejection port needs some tweaks (see images) but we are almost settled for release.

This timeline is weird af when you think about it. If someone had told me in 2019 that I'd be designing guns with the help of anon people on the internet, I would've thought they were crazy. I was just a normal guy at the time. It's strange to see where circumstances can push us.
