It is worth noting here (1S25) 16.38 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh arrived at Newcastle 42 mins late after travelling over a diversionary route between Northallerton and Newcastle with 800205 dragging 801103 over this route, I wonder what has happened there to lose 42 mins?

The LNER service (1S28) 16.38 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh has passed Greatham on the diversionary route 16 mins late, hardly surprising is it, as 800205 is dragging 801103 as there is no OHLE, is this called progress in the year 2025?

@ChimeWhistle @cvhdavidblues @Elwick70 Yes you are right, when Swindon closed, the apprentices there would have to retrain for other skills outside of the works, and that was just the start of the railway works that have closed since, a sad day. I worked in the Doncaster “Plant” for six months of my apprenticeship.

@Modern_Railways Under the leadership of the two editors concerned Colin J Marsden and Andy Bowes- Roden these two publications will be very interesting to read by anyone who has an interest in the “Modern Railways” of today, and Roger Ford’s view always gives a good insight too.

@Modern_Railways I have bought “Rail 123” and “Rail Review 2025, produced by “Key Publishing” and have had a quick look through, and all credit to your “Team” of railway journalists for such a very high standard of railway journalism in these two publications….1/1.

This state of affairs with these EMR Class 170’s happened the other week on the same Nottingham to Skegness service. The Class 156’s and Class153’s working these services were never as unreliable as these Class 170’s why isn’t the DfT sorting this problem out this is a disgrace.

What the LNER social media team did before when there was a coach door lock out of use on an AZUMA train was use the four points of the compass to denote which door was loou, where is the standard convention being used here then?

@N_Amberfield A brilliant photo Chris thanks for posting. What intrigue’s me here Chris, is that small semaphore shunting signal, does that apply to the Class 104 coming out of a siding do you think, as it is in the off position?

@N_Amberfield I always found a Class 31 locomotive, once they were re-engined with the EE 12SVT 1470 hp engine quite reliable and in my opinion a well designed locomotive. They were unusual in having a A1A-A1A wheel arrangement due to the overall weight at over 100 tons plus.
