They didn’t break the cohorts down into 2A and 2B, but based on clinical experience I would imagine most of the Grade 2s were probably 2As.

Makes you wonder, aside from cost, which granted is not a trivial issue, whether there are any legitimate arguments for not using a videolaryngoscope routinely when a rigid laryngoscope is indicated for intubation

While FPS is associated with a reduction in peri-intubation complications, achieving FPS does not preclude the occurrence of complications

@a_marcottee If I had a patient in a CICO situation and cricothyrotomy was not an option or unsuccessful I would most certainly attempt to access the airway with a tracheotomy

@AirwayLegend @pacheco_garrett Of course. The most commonly VL used in our ED is a Mac VL, which allows operators the option of doing DL or VL.
