@AntonyGreenElec @tiny_watermelon Postal votes are available for a reason, and despite the fact that it may change voting dynamics there's no good reason to have voter locations across the state just for a single seat. Do we know when the result will be finalised with the outstanding votes?

@nsummons @KosSamaras I don’t agree with this at all obviously, given I was handing out for the greens!

@KosSamaras This can be true at the same time as it being true that a normal election will change the dynamic significantly. It is simply the case that unless you can command 40-45% on your own (Melbourne) any seat which has a contest between more than two parties will not be held safely.

@RicksPlanet @rippinghottakes Lupton didnt run in the last election, the ABC has him -14 against the Labor vote from 2022 (benchmarking him against them as he was a previous Labor member)

@pingu_pinguping @AntonyGreenElec @adamrayon You can’t vote absentee if there are no polling stations outside the electorate, you would need to send a postal vote I think.

@RicksPlanet @rippinghottakes Just as a basic summary Lupton 12.8 Chisholm 5.3 Liberal +4.8 Total= 22.9% So not really an extraordinary difference, easily accounted for by Antony's analysis

@Joel_Huz First, there are more votes to come. Second, small high rental inner-city electorates have lower turnout due to a less accurate roll and no absent voting at by-elections. I wrote about the phenomena in NSW here

@Jeff_Sparrow Yeah, but could we really afford to end slavery, think of who's going to pay for it!

@AntonyGreenElec @adamrayon Are roll inaccuracies significant enough to affect electorate redistributions?

@AntonyGreenElec @adamrayon Anecdotal: I've been receiving election related material addressed to previous tenant, clearly they haven't changed their address on the electoral roll.

@c28why @PaulBassat Look, I think we likely agree 98% on the principles, it's just the methods for approaching those politically that we perhaps see differently. I don't agree with all greens positions, but I do still feel my view has good representation within the party. Thanks for a good discourse

@c28why @PaulBassat But so do Palestinians who have been displaced, oppressed and murdered. I make no excuse for October 7, it was a heinous slaughter and kidnapping of civilians. But in revenge the state of Israel has committed terrible crimes on many innocent lives in Gaza and the West Bank
