$17K/Month isn’t very Minnesotan. Gov Walz certainly needs somewhere secure but $17K/month is just outrageous
Democrats voted down an amendment that would have limited how much taxpayer money Gov. Walz can spend on rent while the Governor's Mansion undergoes renovations.
He is currently slated to move into a $17,000 per month lakeside mansion.

I held office hours today at the Capitol. The Speaker has closed off access to the public to all State Reps. So I met with about a dozen constituents and advocates in the rotunda. Oddly if you wanted to meet your Sen there are no prohibitions there.

I was pleased that HouseGOP and I were able to bring attention to the issue of the temporary Governors residence being $17K a month. I’m glad that this new arrangement will save the taxpayers $12,500 a month and still provide the Governor a safe and useful residence.

is negotiating a deal to have Gov. Tim Walz and family move into the University of Minnesota’s soon-vacant presidential residence while the governor’s mansion undergoes repairs. $4400/month plus utilities.

Just got a personal call from Deputy Undersecretary of the Navy Greene who told me that the USS Minneapolis-Saint Paul LCS-21 will be commissioned in Duluth next year!
I am part of the commissioning team and this is fantastic news and a big honor for Minnesota!
