You can have a great career in voice acting for *decades* by being a versatile support, bit, and background player. You may not get main cast often, but you'll find yourself working regularly because people will know they can depend on you to give it your best no matter the role.

...but the VAST majority of casts are made up of incidentals and background. Even being a named character that is in every episode is rare. I was in 6/13 episodes in My Clueless First Friend. Every one but 2 of those sessions was about 15 minutes with about 2-3 reacts.

Met in 1988 as proxy for a friend who was afraid to ask her out. (That didn't last.) Exchanged phone numbers at punk/new wave 'teen night club' in '89. Dated through high school. Moved in together for college in '91. (Scandal!) Engaged in '92. Married in '97. She is the best. 🥰
Met in 2012 in a study hall lounge at our college. I asked him out, we dated for 3 years, engaged in 2015. I moved to Hawaii for work, long distance until he finished school. Married in 2018. And the rest is history. He’s my best friend and my everything.
