'We don't want a war', said Washington.
'Neither do we', reply Tehran,
'However, we want to kill your soldiers without any consequence'.
@John_A_Ridge
Pointless restrictions. Western governments still believe in some kind of Russian restraint only if they don't do this or that. Pure dilettantism.
@sfrantzman
The only victory that is possible is the one that involves the establishment of an alternative political structure in place of
#Hamas
. The US could help in this by delegitimizing the organization: by sending a clear message that a political future for Hamas is not possible.
@partizan2020
@John_A_Ridge
If Ukraine were to use American or French missiles to target Russia, Russia would attack Ukraine.
Or in short: nothing would happen that hasn't already happened over eight hundred days.
@AlwaysMyArsenal
@HamasAtrocities
I do not see how such an agreement would mark the end of terrorist organizations against Israel. The network of Iranian proxies will not be significantly disrupted, and they, not the Arab countries, are the main threat to
#Israel
's security.
@ElbridgeColby
The vast amount of weapons sent to Ukraine is completely irrelevant to the conduct of a hypothetical war in the Pacific. The quantities available to Ukraine are practically negligible for such a war. Either deal with the numbers or stop making them up, for God's sake.
@anon3000196687
@John_A_Ridge
Yeah, according to some well known sources Russian air-force shot down from 1200 to 2700 airplanes, including 187 F35A piloted by NATO mercenaries.
@lauferlaw
This is not something that will be easily achieved. A major effort by many nations is needed to stop the
#Russian
attack on
#Ukraine
. Optimism is good, but the focus is even better.
#UkraineAid
A number of political commentators seem to have learned for the first time that persons performing certain public duties have immunity in a large number of cases. Only when they hear that Congress has the right to make laws will they be really surprised.
I’m getting fed up with these “imperial presidency” takes. That is not what SCOTUS has decided. It has not expanded presidential immunity, it has further clarified it. POTUS has always had immunity for official acts. None of Trump’s prosecutions have touched upon them.
@John_A_Ridge
Of course, Hamas is renewing its presence in Gaza, when it has the tacit support of the US administration. It's the same with the Russians in Ukraine - they just have to wait, knowing that the Biden administration is not ready to seriously engage anywhere.
@randymot4
The problem is that the conservative government was not particularly successful in the economy either. British GDP per capita has practically stagnated for years.
@JewishWarrior13
And the International Criminal Court orders the suspension of operations in the zone where the enemy leadership is hiding? interesting.
@ThrustWR
They are simply against helping Ukraine, who knows why. Taiwan, on the other hand, has a point here. If nothing else, the defense of Ukraine has sobered many political leaders in the West.
@bdquinn
The country, like the whole world, was going through a pandemic. Along with quite a bit of sabotage of the US economy by Democratic governors - mostly to hurt Donald Trump's electoral chances.
@anon3000196687
@John_A_Ridge
If the Russians don't test weapons then everyone thinks they have advanced technology.
As soon as they test, however, those beliefs dissipate.
Therefore, it is still better not to test.
@MihulkaS
@jurgen_nauditt
First of all, it's false. Germany produces tanks. Second, it could expand its production. Third, it's a matter of the political will, not of means. Hopefully, it could be changed.
@StephenM
@SenSchumer
It's the security of American allies in Europe, which are the backbone of the international economy. Which is of uttermost importance to ordinary Americans. Isolationism is dead-end.
@Kalibre2022
@RealCynicalFox
Energy flows from the
#MiddleEast
are crucial for the international economy. The idea that the USA could isolate itself from world politics is ludicrous.
Both overly interventionistic and isolationistic camps are deeply wrong.
@JohnHPiette
@AriMelber
This should not be a judgment about the type of person and poor choice of associates. Either there is a specific criminal act or there is not. And in this case, it is difficult to understand what Trump is accused of in the first place.
@wartranslated
#DroneBombers
could be a very important element of the Ukrainian war effort. However, a lot of cluster shells will be much more helpful against the
#Russian
offensive.
@John_A_Ridge
If Europeans spend 3-4 percent nobody would care what
#Trump
or any American president say about European security.
However, it is questionable is there enough time and political will to make changes.
@RALee85
@JimmySecUK
Very large quantities. Is there some credible estimation of how many 152mm shells are produced by
#Bulgaria
or other Eastern European countries?
There are different numbers about 155 but at least for them we could get some idea about production capacities (even without
#India
)
@HKgrizzly
@NaziDemolisher
During the previous US administration, many Chinese customers closed their doors to Iran in the face of a severe secondary sanctions regime.
However, this administration is simply not ready to seriously confront geopolitical enemies.
@ElbridgeColby
@RepMikeGarcia
Success is avoiding the destruction of sovereignty and genocide. Ukraine can achieve this (and has already achieved it) by preventing Russia from capturing major population centers and defeating its armed forces. 1/2
@APHClarkson
It's not hard to understand the mechanisms. Especially in poorer countries. A lot of people in post-socialist countries don't have any prospect for financial security, and a very little money could buy a lot of political influence.
@ElbridgeColby
@HawleyMO
It's not a fact. It's nonsense. Dangerous nonsense. Russian air/land forces in the case of the attack would be under strong pressure from NATO air forces. Their offensive capabilities would be decimated in the few weeks.

@AndrewPerpetua
Building more massive and better fortifications has nothing to do with the amount of ammunition. The Ukrainian authorities, for example, could have done it much better.
@200__zoka
@nexta_tv
Even if they break at some section of the frontline it's highly dubious they can expand this breakthrough in a meaningful sense. Their forces and logistics aren't large enough.
@OlenaWave
@jurgen_nauditt
And they should increase their military capabilities during those years. Frontline states should even invest in civil defense infrastructure ASAP.

The opportunities for Israeli-Indian cooperation are enormous. Israel's know-how and India's will to progress open up unimagined possibilities.

first and foremost needs more artillery ammunition. A lot of it. Airplanes, tanks, and even IVF are of secondary importance, especially without major offensive operations. Artillery, artillery, and more artillery.
#RussiaUkraineWar

@sentdefender
Such a thing is very unlikely. No side in Europe now has the military capacity to carry out large-scale operations spanning a vast geographical area from Scandinavia to the Black Sea. 1/2
@andrew51991
@SwannMarcus89
Unfortunately, in conflicts, overreacting to anything to do with the enemy is almost inevitable. It takes a lot of time, patience, and wisdom to heal the traumas of war - and after the war.
@JewishWarrior13
I am deeply worried that there isn't time for waiting. If the
#Hamas
or any other organization in the
#Gaza
perceive itself as a supplementary front for the Iranian forces they will try to prolong the war.
Therefore, probably the best option is to destroy the remaining forces.
@noclador
The lesson that should be drawn from this is that the
#RussianArmy
is capable of recovering quickly despite losses.
Underestimating that capability hurts both
#Ukraine
and its allies.
