I personally believe the channel has a great opportunity to give voice to the average man or woman on the street - and we work so hard to truly reflect our communities. I am angry that these sorts of comments are made without any thought to the effect it will have on other staff

There are many good, talented and lovely people there, who strive for balance and fairness in their reporting and presenting. But then there are those who churn out click baiting sound bites for shits n giggles and make life so much harder for the rest of us.

Have you ever been back to your old school? I set foot in mine last week, for the first time since 1984. What an incredible experience. I sat in some of my old classrooms and had a few moments to myself. I strongly recommend it. via

is overkill but there are protocols, worked out years ago and reviewed regularly between the palace and the media. The death of a senior royal hasn’t happened since 52. It’s fascinating watching it play out

I don’t see why it’s virtue signalling. It’s not like I did it on my own. Hundreds of thousands are doing it. I was asked to report on the queues so I decided the best way to do that, is to join in. That way, you get a real sense of what it’s like.

I went to the Egyptian museum once. In a dim corner, a door marked Mummies. Inside was a tatty, dingy room. I stared in awe at the fingernails of King Herod who killed the babies and couldn’t believe what I was seeing. In such an undignified place. So glad they’re moving.

I take your point but it if I’d got through my whole bit without the interruption, you would have seen I was presenting both sides of the debate. In fact, the week before I’d interviewed a hotelier who’s using his hotel as a safe space.
