@PaulGarvey4 The Big Listen reported 'In early years, schools and FE and skills, respondents raised concerns about the way we handle complaints. They called for a more independent process'. This was ignored, clearly.

Ofsted's 'Big Listen' found 'inspection can have a negative impact on staff well-being and mental health'. Yet their overview of research justifying the new framework has a section on 'Research on staff well-being' which does not mention inspection! #ofsted

More gradings with different words, primary and secondary still lumped together, the focus on curriculum unchanged and absolutely no mention of addressing the subjectivity, variability and expertise of the inspectors themselves...

A colour-coded 5-point grading scale replaces the single word judgement. Schools will now strive to be 'exemplary across all areas' instead of 'outstanding'. How does this address the fundamental issues? #Ofsted

The pressure is on for real Ofsted reform. Our research found that Ofsted was perceived as toxic and no longer trusted by the profession. Much more reform is needed, and we need an immediate pause @BeyondOfsted @NEUnion @IOE_London
Excl: Since Ruth Perry’s inquest 11 heads left suicidal by Ofsted inspections. Preston primary slams “disgusting” inspection with 2 staff suicidal. Julia Waters says Ofsted “unwilling or unable” to change and “must not be allowed to reform themselves.”
