The fact that DPS won't be forced to follow Austin's Woke rules is a feature, not a bug.
DPS troopers patrolling Austin don't have to follow City of Austin policies protecting individual rights, due process, and our values. Example: DPS troopers can arrest people for pot, aren't subject to Police Monitor oversight, and follow DPS, not APD, rules for use of force.
