Labour’s Louise Haigh says Avanti’s west coast train service to Glasgow is “woeful”. She’s so right. I am currently on the 5.30 to Glasgow. It left Euston late, has been reduced from 9 carriages to 7 and it’s so rammed they’ve had to close the coffee shop. Time for CHANGE!

So desperately sorry to hear of the death of Greg Philo, a ground breaking academic, great friend and truly truly decent human being. Thinking of his family, friends and colleagues. Greg will be missed so much more than many others.
Yesterday morning I heard that my long time mentor, colleague and dear friend, Greg Philo, passed away & I’m still reeling from the shock & sadness. It’s difficult to articulate the importance of Greg in my life. I simply wouldn’t be doing what I'm doing were it not for him. 1/4

Kim and I are celebrating our 45th anniversary this week. I say 'week' because it depends whether you take it from us meeting when I was collecting for some striking Sheffield workers or from our first 'date'. Either way, I've got a lot to thank those strikers for. They won too.
