Easy 11.5km today in lovely 24°C 🌞 the few shady areas were very welcome 🥵 got a bit carried away in kms 9&10, just felt comfortable and enjoyable 🤷‍♂️👌 16km run in the books for tomorrow 😍🏃

Been a week of feeling awful on a lot of runs, or just not enjoying it, and that's normal, but the grind continues. It's been a really rough week mentally as well, but today's long run has made my week 🙌😍 Now to sit back and enjoy the football season kicking off 😍

Had to skip the long run yesterday so got it done this afternoon. Happy with the pretty consistent pacing, and decided to push at the end. Felt great 👌 13 days, and 7 runs left to go 🙌

Long run complete 🏃 24kms/15miles. Considering the 8km jump up from last week, very happy with this. HR data a bit off for some reason, ain't no way it kept dropping at the end 😂 Also, elevation in this run was the same as total elevation in the marathon 👌

Initial plan was to do 2 x 10*400m at 4:10/km pace, but due to fatigue, I settled for 4:30/km which still pushed me. Took me 3 reps to settle into pace, and really felt it for the last 5 😅 also wanted to go all out on the last rep as usual 💪🔥 Do 👏 hard 👏 things 👏

Went for a threshold run today on VERY tired legs 😴 was supposed to be 10km but the last 1.5km was a steep uphill and I was already fading 😵 happy with the pacing though 🙌

It's been a week since I set my first proper benchmark. I hadn't allowed myself to feel the nerves or anything in the build-up so as soon as I realised I reached my goal of 4:30, it all came out (didn't take very long) 😅 Now to keep improving 🏃💪

7 years ago, I ran 23.33 miles (after running 7-9 miles regularly but never more). Bonked massively in the final ~5 miles. Ran solo, for charity, with 4L of lucozade sport on my back to keep me going 😅

Felt so stiff all day, still recovering from Monday, and felt so tired I had to nap. Thought of having a day off, but remembered why I'm pushing myself this week, so I got out the door and did my recovery run. SO glad I did! Would not have done anything but recovery today 😅😴

It's been a more intense week than planned, but feeling good 🙌 next week will definitely be easier running. Stopped for 40s to refill my bottle, hence the different timings. Never been so annoyed at 1 second 😅😮‍💨

5k tempo/progressive done for the day. Legs wanted to go faster than easy but managed not to push the pace too far/too long. Could feel where the niggles are so I know where to focus recovery. And also managed to get home right as the rain came pouring down 👌😁

These are my two marathon times so far. #1 - Brighton Apr 2022 #2 - Oslo Sep 2023 I had no training for Brighton, and 2 months of training for Oslo. Training started a month ago for Oslo 2025 and I'm determined to get that time down to 2h30

The downside to running everyday (except Sundays) is that I hit the monthly requirements on @MYZONEmoves within a week, and have another 3 weeks of seeing the status level not move 😮‍💨

Whoops... Aim was 5/6kms easy recovery. Firat 3 songs were so good I just vibed and worked on form while controlling breathing instead. Then got competitive and wanted to beat my segment from yesterday 🤦 at least I kept it easy after that 🤷‍♂️😅

Pic 1 - 5km, 16°C in the rain Pic 2 - 16km, 25°C Pic 3 - HR in 16° Pic 4 - HR in 25° Yes, I knew I'd be running for longer in one of these, but the effort was still near enough the same for the first 5km. The heat makes a HUGE difference, so don't be afraid to slow down

I need to work on pacing 😂 Wanted a 6:00/km average run today, after my 13km yesterday. The 5:30 pace was comfortable but difficult to maintain when the wind was blowing against me for half the run. But overall, not a bad run 😁

Another AMAZING interval session done 😍 absolutely killed me but I hit all my paces 🙌 was cutting it close after the 1600m rep, but still never sprinted to finish on time 😁 My next 5k goal is 4:36/km, so will certainly be a challenge. Got some beasty sessions planned though 😏

@brentwpeterson I hold a 500ml bottle in my hands, and switch hands every now and then. I know where I'm able to fill up during runs, so always stay within distance of those around the times I'll need to refill. Not the most comfortable but I've got used to it over time. Which races you doing?

Brilliant thread. I've always been a run hard, run fast kinda guy and I wonder why it takes forever to improve. Started running slower and it certainly helps. Huge improvements for this guy though, and will definitely track my progress 🏃

In mid-April when I checked my weight just after I started running again, I was 103.6kg (228lbs). This morning, I was 96.7kg (213lbs) 🙌🙌
