In 1936, my grandfather, Frank E. Beresford, a professional artist, went to see the lying-in-state of King George V. He was moved by the scene & asked permission to set up his easel and paint it. From this emerged his painting, The Princes' Vigil, which was bought by Queen Mary.

It seems we are losing rich people who used to pay large amounts of British tax while gaining illegal immigrants who generally don't.

It is Orwellian how the government, the EU and BBC all have worked in recent years to counter information and opinion that they don't like. "Disinformation" is the new term for "wrong-think".

Noticeable that she refers to "Farage" rather than "Mr Farage". When I was in newspapers, we only did that with criminals.

Dear @Walmart , This hammer & sickle T-shirt is as offensive as one with a swastika. Circa 100 million were executed, were tortured to death, died in terrible conditions in prisons and gulag camps or starved to death in Communist countries. Withdraw the shirt.

The Conservative government is a big disappointment - war on landlords, weak on house-building, high taxes and no sign of spending cuts - but Labour is even worse. Stopping North Sea oil drilling is simply bonkers. What a dismal time.

This is the earliest known original colour film of London, taken in 1924 - just 5 years after Armistice. London has always been a truly beautiful city, this is very moving

Here's your handy guide on how to destroy the UK oil and gas industries and get multinationals to locate their headquarters elsewhere. Next up: how to destroy the banking and finance industries.

Rishi Sunak is happy to give oil + gas giants making record profits a massive tax break. All at a time when the British people are struggling with their energy bills. Labour would fix the windfall tax and use the proceeds to stop the energy price cap rising in April.

The short story is that Brexiteers cannot easily trust Hunt - someone who accepted May's deal and didn't resign from the cabinet - to deliver a Real Brexit.

@montie It is ridiculous to brand May as a failure in preventing all terrorism. No one can do that. A very large number of plots have been thwarted.
