I volunteer with emotionally/ physically abused kids (11 years now). Thursday is their day but they remembered it was my birthday. They cooked me dinner. A few former students graduated culinary school. This is the delicious dinner. Small kindness can make a huge difference โค๏ธ.

My son defended a girl against a bully. Bully hit her with barbed wire near her eye (10 stitches). My son asked him to stop. Bully went to hit my son. My son hit him back . Principal wanted to suspend both boys. Girlโs parents wouldnโt have it. Bully was suspended, my son wasnโt.

Both my parents were immigrants too. Mom didnโt pass her citizenship test until I was almost 11. The English language was very difficult for her. I remember how proud she was at the Naturalization Oath Ceremony. I didnโt understand then, but I do now. Congratulations to your Mom!

Yesterday was my momโs birthday. Today is the anniversary of her death. I lost her to cancer when I was 19. She watched me reach for the stars but she never got to see I achieved everything she couldnโt. Sheโd be proud to see me follow her charity work and who Iโve become.
