Republican before it was cool. We’ve got a nation to fix. Catholic. Gun owner. Think for yourself, schmuck. MAGA in profile - opinion discarded
@Capblyatbeard
@KMamaBear03
My father and I are both lifelong Republicans. He got aboard the “Trump Train” and I waved farewell from the station.
The sad thing is, I’ve loved talking politics with him all my life. Insightful, well-reasoned, a wealth of insight even if we didn’t agree on everything.
Now,

Off the cuff, 95% of the so-called “patriots” in these replies would be demanding accountability for why MORE people weren’t shot if that was BLM storming the building.
#SituationalEthics
@UnrealBluegrass
I can’t even imagine how this is a partisan thing. Been a Republican all my life and this seems like something out of a horror movie, Invasion of the Conscience Snatchers or something. Not only not sitting it out, but preparing to leap across the aisle to vote against it all.
@LaurenWitzkeDE
Criminalize Christianity? Really? You can’t possibly believe that, but sure, it gins up the rubes for those sweet, sweet outrage clicks.
@LauraLoomer
Nobody’s recusing themselves. You’ve made a giant production out of a nothingburger hoping that Daddy notices what a good and dutiful daughter you’ve been.
You need help, Laura. Genuine help. You can’t live the rest of your life like this.
@ElijahSchaffer
Nope, they’re a geopolitical adversary. Ukraine has offered us the wonderful opportunity to put Russia back in the box for a generation, at a fraction of the resources.
It’s an absolute bargain.
@DenisonBarbs
@GrantCardone
Well, Grant is rich, so what do you think. Of *course* he feels entitled to extra privileges, but he needs to make us regular folk think we’re sharing the same burden and risk as he is (with none of its fruits, naturally)

If you’re a patriot who is backing a guy who’s talked about “terminating the Constitution” or trying to install fake electors, maybe your “patriotism” isn’t worth a damn.
@EmeraldRobinson
Actions have consequences, as every last name on your list clearly illustrates.
Time to get MAGA out of the GOP and get back to sanity.
And decency.
@TonemanLives
“We all agree life was better under Trump”
Anyone with even a modicum of reason checked out there and moved on.
I appreciate you getting to the foolishness early so folks didn’t have to work harder to find it.

@CollinRugg
If there is evidence that it was motivated by hate, sure, let’s consider that.
If there is no evidence of a hate motivation, then there is still plenty to put her away on.
What evidence do you have that there was a hate motivator here?
None. You’re injecting that into the
@krassenstein
They got Fox News right. I like Fox’s local journalistic coverage, but overall they strive to keep their audience in a state of perpetual outrage. Just awful stuff.
@newtgingrich
Completely wrong, Newt. Having an alternative to Trump is not just healthy, it’s necessary, if only to get a proper gauge of the measure of Trump’s lack of support.
@JoelWBerry
Doesn’t every president talk about terminating the Constitution or getting a slate of fake electors?
Totally not authoritarian at all, what are you worried about folks!
@TheNihlOnExile
“I want you all, My fellow Americans to understand, that Poland and Poles are arguably the most pro American people in Europe”
Can confirm. Poland is a far better friend than many of us who have never been there realize.
@KhyleSocrates
@LauraLoomer
When people say “divisive” about Obama, it’s not hard to guess what they’re really upset about.
Obama was a gifted speaker, and a thoroughly mediocre president. He didn’t offer a ton beyond high-concept, low-impact feelgoods like “hope and change.”
But “divisive”…

Of course, he’s my father. I haven’t disowned the man, we still spend time together, I visit and bring the kids by to spend time with him. If he wants to talk politics, he goes right ahead. I nod and smile and wait for him to finish.
But I’m also allowed to grieve what he was

Changing the world is hard, hard work. It requires effort, focus, drive, aptitude, perseverance, coordination.
The hippie movement had a lot of things going for it, and undoubtedly both moved the needle and left a legacy… but that basket of traits aren’t the first thing that

“Trump is an existential threat to democracy” isn’t enough?
I’m a single-issue voter this November, and that’s the issue.
Plus handing MAGA another defeat will recharge the party to seriously contend in 28/32
@nigroeneveld
@dbongino
People will remember Stephen King long, long after his passing.
Bongino will be remembered poorly- a man who made his money stoking the divisions of his country- if he is even remembered at all.

@RonFilipkowski
This is it right here. Nobody is going to save us, there is no deus ex machina that will preserve this Republic.
Assume Trump will skirt all justice. All of it.
Assume he will mobilize his army of America-haters.
Get ready to put in the work.
Never, NEVER in my life did I
@Chicago1Ray
I’m gonna vote like our Republic depends on it, even if it means holding my nose and crossing the aisle.
Trump is a dead end for this country. Has been for a long time, lots of folks are just starting to see it now that it’s increasingly obvious.

A self-described Christian Nationalist getting it wrong, what are the odds?
It’s almost like listening to Prosperity Gospel preachers mumble their way past Matthew 19:23.
God warned us about these pretenders in Matthew 7:15-20. Be it on your head if you ignore the warning.
It was always going to come to this.
If you want to save this nation, if you want an America to pass on to your children, your grandchildren, you cannot sit on the sidelines of this one.
Trump must not just be defeated, but the defeat must be unmistakable and irrefutable.
We can't keep holding out hope that the Courts will stop Trump. You can hold your breath and hope, or you can take action in November. The only solution to Trump is the ballot box.

@Angry_Staffer
@atropia_veteran
I admit I may be off by a percentage or two.
It wasn’t a peaceful protest, it was a violent mob. Any needless loss of life is a tragedy, but the shooting was justified. I understand we’ll have to agree to disagree on that.
@Timodc
McConnell has never been anything other than an utterly ruthless power-principle pragmatist (and I say that with almost a kind of begrudging respect).
His endorsement is about the least-surprising thing so far in 2024.
@emperoreaganite
The MAGA base and the GOP base are not a perfect Venn overlap.
If Trump loses in November- a very real prospect- then populism loses with him. Sane and principled conservativism will have a chance to return.
Forget Nixon. Trump would make Reagan ill.
For the good of the GOP

Don’t forget to pick up his book on masculinity, folks! “Manhood: The Masculine Virtues America Needs”.
As clearly exemplified by the author.
