Here I am, sharing some thoughts on the committee process and the final report. Let's use this moment and momentum to get social care transformed into something that let's us live, as Tricia Nicoll so aptly puts, 'gloriously ordinary lives'

When @HLAdultCare started their 10 mth inquiry we challenged them to properly engage with people who draw on support to exemplify how a committee could show that the direct experience & ideas of people should & could drive such report. They responded 2/

The #HLAdultSocialCare report has been released today. Having been a witness for the committee and seeing how lived experience was valued and listened to, and now after reading the report, I am hopeful that this can be the start of meaningful change and progress

Called 'A “gloriously ordinary life”: Spotlight on adult social care', our report calls for a more positive and resilient approach to #SocialCare. This is why, as a starting point, we have endorsed #socialcarefuture's vision. We believe it should form the basis of future reform.

@JonJonBelloo @ThisFireBurns__ @Gintit2k21 @ladbible I'm not referring to NHS prescriptions, as there are so few of them. I'm talking about private prescriptions for cannabis, which are taxed. This change to being able to buy/vape cannabis flower legally possibly indicates wider legalisation on the horizon.

@Jones88bones @mspricklefinger @davidlhardie But if that's the case, then it isn't the diagnosis that leads to 'financial reward' it is due to her, from your other answer, fraudulently misleading the systems

@Jones88bones @mspricklefinger @davidlhardie Does it impact her life to the level she fulfils the descriptors? as then she would be entitled to it. If she has issues to the level that fulfil the descriptors then a diagnosis isn't required anyway; or are you saying she mislead the dwp/pip assessors?

@Pasc76 @soniasodha @Gatwick_Airport How can they help? They can't necessarily lift the person, or get an aisle chair. It takes 2 people to lift me, and someone to assist with the aisle chair. Some places that disembark also use a lift that has to be driven and operated by the staff

@banger505 @soniasodha @Gatwick_Airport That's not how it really works, I've been in a similar situation and asked 4 or 5 times to the same response of 'they're on their way' 'there's nothing we can do' etc, bearing in mind some places are impossible to disembark without support as it uses lifts driven to the plane
