SCOTUS failed to do the ONE JOB it is commanded by the US Constitution to do, abrogating its responsibility out of cowardice and fear of backlash from the anti-Trump media.
SCOTUS absolutely DID NOT have discretion on whether to take the case or not - they are REQUIRED to.

With its cowardice and failure to hear that case, SCOTUS sent a clear message to all of the States that they can run their elections without regard to the law or Constitution, and will never have to fear other States being able to petition SCOTUS to stop them.

By not at the very least taking the case up and ruling against Texas, SCOTUS sent the message to States that SCOTUS does NOT recognize the rights of the States to have a central forum in which to have controversies with other States addressed, as the Constitution promised them.
