Today marks the 9th year since I became sober. I was addicted to opiates for 4 years, and on the 18th of September 2014, I reached my lowest point. September 19th, I stopped and went through hell, but I came out clean. Anyone facing addiction, know that you can always get clean.

Today wasn't easy for me.
I lost the woman I loved because of addiction. We were both former addicts, but the drugs had a strong pull on her and she overdosed alone. She will be in my heart forever.
It's your birthday today and I'm remembering the good times we had before you left me alone almost 9 years ago.
