The ocean floor of the Pacific Ocean will likely be mined for metals needed for EV batteries. This is an ecosystem with species we haven't yet classified, one that we hardly understand. EV's are not a climate solution. They are a symptom of our addiction to cars and car culture.

It's Henry's birthday today. He should be 23. He had so much potential - excelling at academics, in love, happy and motivated - when he was killed by a reckless driver. The costs of unbridled car culture are too high; we sacrifice too much. Henry shouldn't have been sacrificed.

The small section of road directly in front of your home is not your private parking space. You are not inherently entitled to use that space exclusively. Anyone can park there. And the city can decide to put a bike lane there. It's public property. It doesn't belong to you.

May I file a lawsuit against the Dodge for designing the truck that killed my son? I think the damages to my son and my family - damages inflicted on tens of thousands of other families in the US each year - are much much much worse. @SecretaryPete @NHTSAgov @USDOT

@SueAnnLevy @KevinABWhite You are blind to the fact that you are the one being unreasonably entitled here. You blocked others space. You were in a space that wasn’t meant for you. How is that ok?

I'm continually amazed that if an at-fault driver who kills someone remains at the scene, the final statement from the press is almost always: 'the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating...' as if they are such a conscientious person.

How some US drivers justify speeding:

@Henryz_mom Speed doesn't kill. Earth's surface rotational speed is ~1,000mph. If speed kills, we'd already be dead. Speed differential kills. Hitting a tree standing still at 50mph or 70mph are both fatal speed differentials. This is why slow drivers are as dangerous as speeders.

Is soliciting public input on a bike lane from those who live on the route inherently biased against it? Nearly everyone who will benefit lives elsewhere and these people aren’t consulted. Thanks in advance for insights and opinions.

BIG trucks have greater blind spots, hard time avoiding crashes, grew 24% heavier from '00-'18, less likely to have advanced safety features, do worse in emergency handling & are more deadly. They generate 4-5x as much profit. And we accept this reality?
