I can’t quite believe I’m typing these words…
I’ve been offered a place on
@BBCGetIn
’s Journalist Apprenticeship, working for the
@BBCNews
team in London!
It’s been my dream to work at the BBC since I was a child, and I cannot wait to start in September — it is an honour.
NEW: My 2023
#Formula1
season rankings!
I reviewed every single driver's performance this season and ranked them 1-20 for
@ExeposeSport
. There's a few spicy takes I hope might spark debate... 👀
(Although no prizes for guessing who I ranked number 1!)
🗞️ Exclusive
An investigation into a powerful figure in British media, Sir Paul Marshall, has found him engaging with extremist content on Twitter.
The super-rich

investor is a reported frontrunner to buy The Telegraph and Spectator.

Incredibly proud to say that I’ll be graduating from
@UniofExeter
next month with a First Class degree, after achieving a First in all of my second- and third-year modules!! 🥳
🤯🤯🤯
10 year old me who would do anything to get out of PE and hated sport would not believe that, 10 years later, I’m nominated for Best Sports Reporter!
Thank you
@SPAJournalism
The whole
@Exepose
team had a wonderful time at
#SPANC24
last weekend in Bristol!
Thanks so much to the
@SPAJournalism
and
@EpigramPaper
for organising and hosting us, and congratulations to all the winners on the night! 📰
“It’s very easy to put on a performance or a voice or a style in journalism… but the really great journalists sound like themselves”
Really enjoying hearing from
@adamfleming
at the
@SPAJournalism
Conference! 🎙️
#SPANC24
We loved celebrating all our regionals winners over the weekend, we've now put the full list on our website - including those who were highly commended and who got a special mention!
Finally submitted my history dissertation today — over a year of work, researching, conducting interviews and writing, but I’m so proud with the final product! 🇺🇸🇬🇧
The traditional photo next to the Exeter rock is still pending…
NEW: Students at the University of Exeter have joined a growing global movement and set up the “Exeter Liberation Encampment for Palestine”
Their camp is located on the Green on Queen’s Drive
Thanks so much to
@NewsAssociates
for running this morning’s Journalism Ethics Workshop with
@Lucyedyer
@jtoneysbeat
@GrahamDudman
!
Our
@Exepose
team found it really useful and interesting to explore so many different ethical dilemmas relevant to us as student journalists.
Pleased to say that tomorrow I’ll be doing some live coverage of
@EUMCC
’s spotlight fixture against Oxford from Exeter Cricket Club!
I’ll be live tweeting the men’s match as well as doing a rolling commentary that will go out on
@XpressionFM
shortly afterwards 🏏
Although Twitter has had its issues in the last few months, it’s not going away — so I’ve decided to set this account up for my work as an aspiring young journalist!
I’ll be sharing my work for
@Exepose
and beyond on here.
Seen this clip doing the rounds a lot… can we just talk about the caller’s biphobia for a sec? Comparing being bisexual to “sitting on the fence” is frankly offensive
'Starmer is vegetarian, but not a vegan, which says something about his character, that sitting on the fence thing...'
Vegan caller Simon, who is typically a Labour voter, tells
@IainDale
he's been 'put off' the party due to Keir Starmer being merely vegetarian.
Really proud to say that, today, I have completed the
@BBCGetIn
assessment centre for journalist apprentice!
Even getting to this stage was unbelievable, and to get the chance to speak about my work to renowned journalists was so rewarding.
Keeping my fingers crossed now 🤞
NEW: proud (and sad) to say that my final edition of
@Exepose
as Deputy Editor is out now!! 🥲💚
Our front page leads on the recent issues with Devon’s water supplies, as well as the Renters’ Reform Bill after the election was called
If these reports are true it’s a damning indictment on the Bahrain GP, F1 and Liberty. The paddock has made huge strides in LGBTQ+ inclusivity in recent years, and this kind of discrimination undermines it all.
The climate emergency has been a dominant theme in our pages this year, and for Science, I interviewed leading climate scientist
@JamesGDyke
about climate change and how it intersects with politics and society
This year, I have been proud to lead Exeposé’s coverage of the Gaza conflict — an incredibly difficult and sensitive issue.
This week, I report on the encampment set up by
@Ele4Pal
and their recent protest actions
The ultimate psephological geekery but I noticed something interesting in the Telegraph MRP poll…
Almost all the constituencies that run along the Paddington-Exeter train line would go Lib Dem (Newbury-Westbury-Castle Cary-Taunton)
The entries are in, as are the stats! Another RECORD BREAKING year for the SPA National Awards...
Keep an eye out for shortlists, then winners will be revealed at
#SPANC24
!
I’ll be taking part in an X-Media Movember panel event on behalf of
@Exepose
this afternoon, discussing men’s mental health.
Tune in on
@XpressionFM
from 16:00!
On page 3, I report on the return of
@ExeterPride
after two years! The day was such a wonderful celebration of queerness and I’m glad to cover it 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Activists have also staged a protest in the Forum, busy with parents and prospective students, covering the floor in flyers claiming that the University is “complicit in the genocide of the Palestinians”
NEW:
@Exepose
Issue 755 out now! 🌈📰
With a special rainbow-themed front page for
#LGBTQHistoryMonth
, I cover with the Guild Elections results with the rest of our senior team, and reflect on two years since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
NEW: Issue 757 of
@Exepose
is out now!
Our front page features coverage of South West Water pollution, as well as an exclusive scandal over an Exeter University Conservative Association event.
Not to be forgotten - I also wrote a longer Features piece discussing how 2024 is the biggest year in global democracy in history.
Although a comprehensive summary of all the elections happening this year was impossible in 800 words, hopefully this can provide a concise summary!
On Friday,
@Exepose
was on newsstands across on campus for Issue 754!
A very difficult week dealing with plenty of barriers to our work as journalists, but proud to way that we got through it and defended our freedom to report.
All that’s left for me to say is a huge thank you to everyone who has helped to make Exeposé what it is this year — it has been an honour to be a part of this publication.
I’m sure more teary and rum-fuelled words will follow at Monday’s ball! 🥲💚
As the first day of Guild Elections campaigning draws to a close, just a reminder that our
@Exepose
special edition is available now on campus and on Issuu! 🗳️
Featuring exclusive interviews with candidates and our verdict.
In my life I’ve had the pleasure of visiting churches, synagogues, Hindu and Buddhist temples, but never a mosque. Whilst in Paris I made a deliberate effort to come to the Grande Mosquée — truly spectacular Islamic architecture. 🕌
Very excited to be heading to our fellow south-west city of Bristol with the rest of the
@Exepose
team for the
#SPANC24
in April, as defending Best Student Publication!
It wasn’t exactly a classic
#F1
#BahrainGP
today… but there’s still plenty to discuss! 🏁
I’ll be on
@XpressionFM
’s Sunday Sport Show tomorrow morning to review the race 🏎️
Tune in from 10:45am (or 10am if you want to hear Gracie talk netball too!) here
Finally, filling the back pages, I wrote a match report on last week's trip to Sandy Park to watch
@ExeterUniRFC
take on
@ExeterChiefs
in a mid-season friendly!
#TownVsGown
🏉
I’ll be back on air on
@XpressionFM
from 10:30am to talk all about the
#MiamiGP
and F1 in general with
@j_wterry
on the Sunday Sports Show this morning!

It’s time…entry for the SPA’s 2024 National Awards is now open!
Whether you're a brand new or long standing publication or student journalist, we cannot wait to read your submissions.

I’m not in Exeter this weekend so I sadly won’t be able to make it to this, but I implore anyone in the city, particularly students, to go along to Bedford Square tomorrow afternoon to show solidarity with Ukraine 💙💛
At
#ReadingForOdesa
Exeter, a rally will begin at Bedford Square at 2:30 PM, leading into an afternoon of Ukrainian poetry readings from 3:30 PM at St Stephen’s Church.
Devon Ukrainian Association will lead the event with
@UniofExeter
,
@MaketankExeter
, and Exeter City of Lit.
Pleased to say the full commentary from both innings is available now on Spotify - links down below 🏏🎙️
First Innings (Exeter) -
Second Innings (Oxford) -
BREAKING: The University of Exeter's Executive Board has issued a statement to all students via email, condemning the actions of the
@Ele4Pal
protesters following disruption to the Uni's Open Day last weekend
Want to amplify this as far as possible — we’ve had a lot of fun working with the archives this year (especially as part of our 750th special edition and the new Exetera Exetera section), and it would be great to finally have a full set of our 755 (and counting) issues 📰
Did you know
@UoEHeritageColl
hold an almost complete run of
@Exepose
issues?They're sadly missing the first 94 issues (published during 1987-1990) and looking for alumni help to fill the gap. If you own any issues that you'd be happy to donate please contact libspc
@exeter

One final press week of the autumn term is done and dusted after another long week in the (festively decorated) office! 🎄
Can’t wait to see Issue 752 in print on Wednesday
@Exepose
NEW: I was invited on to
@execeleratepod
in the wake of Charles Leclerc’s new Ferrari contract to discuss what this means for both Leclerc & Ferrari! 🆑🏎️
Listen on Spotify now 🎧
Exeposé editorial team predictions for
#BahrainGP

Harry - Charles Leclerc
Anabel - Charles Leclerc
Joshua - Rory the racing car
Livvy - Lightning McQueen
Charlie - Roy (?)
This month marks 20yrs since the repeal of Section 28 — yet similar laws remain in place across Europe, nowhere more so than Hungary. 🇭🇺
I discussed what a recent museum controversy in the country says about LGBTQ+ rights across Europe for
@Exepose
🏳️🌈
I then gave this a satirical spin for our Satire section, with campus cat Napoleon sacked from the Cat-binet by
@Number10cat
, and then going on I'm A Celebrity! 🐈
@GWRHelp
The delay repay form tells me the train “doesn’t exist”? It was cancelled completely, not delayed, and I’m on an open return ticket — how do I claim for this?
Their demands for the University include:
• Divest from all military, defence & security companies
• Boycott Israeli unis and research programmes
• Support Palestinian education through scholarships
• Safeguard free speech and academic freedoms
Recording in the
@XpressionFM
studio today as a guest on
@execeleratepod
, discussing Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari future!
Will be available on Spotify shortly 🏎️
Big news in the F1 paddock after the Christmas break — Guenther Steiner is gone!
One of the longest serving TPs in the sport, having served at Haas since its inception
Music was the first section of Exeposé I wrote for, and I served as Music Editor in Year 2, so I of course had to write for Music in my final edition!
I wrote a particularly personal piece reflecting on the music that has defined my 3 years at Exeter 🧡🎶
