@BillingMartin Ha, yes this! Often start appointments with the question, so how much do you know about what we do or why you have been referred to us? Only to be met with a 'no idea'!

@k8purcellphysio Absolutely, again guess it maybe comes back to time pressures in some areas and awareness of clinician to check rather than assume. Definitely something we should think about in normal life too π

@k8purcellphysio Absolutely, really important to look at all factors impacting a patients experience. However also important in doing so, that we don't invalidate a persons experience and leave them feeling dismissed and palmed off. Important to be aware of our language + checking understanding

@Carlthephysio Definitely think that a conversation with teams about the importance of communication and the impact of words on people and their rehab. Classic one is telling people they will end up in a w/c. Never sure what this is meant to achieve!

@PeteOSullivanPT @IrresolutePhys @Tash_Stanton Sorry, god this escalated! Of course psychological factors are an important component of someone's pain experience. But how people talk to patients (I accept they don't always have the luxury of time) is so important to not stigmatise them and infer its all in their head.

@IrresolutePhys Ask the person telling them! Inferring someone's pain is not coming from their tissues but rather their mind is problematic in my view

@marklaslett_NZ It's something I have been looking at but hard when have found some great clinical benefits of being on here. It's better since I have avoided using the main thread and just using the following thread but worry about it then just being an echo chamber of views I agree with π€·π»

@adamdobson123 Maybe I need to spend my time on here using the following thread rather than the all thread. Just so triggering to read some of the absolute trash that's spouted there.

@adamdobson123 Where does it end though. I get that a few people leaving twitter makes no difference to him but at the same time the absolute state of some of the stuff that gets spread on here, something has to change. It's not like he is going to be held to account by any government
