I'm absolutely gutted. My first exposure to Lynch's work was when my mother was at home with me a few months into being born. Twin Peaks was the show that got her through those first tough months of baby Hannah (apparently, I was a nightmare). I've watched the show, and his entire body of work, more times than I can count. His magnificent brain made me realize it was okay to be "the weird kid," sitting alone at lunch reading The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer. I cannot properly describe the profound impact his work has had on my life. Say hello to The Log Lady for me, and rest peacefully.
