My dog took many tests today. It was not good news. His liver is not clear. His doctor discussed it with me and said I might want to think about the possibility of not having surgery. I can't talk right now. I am too numb. I posted this so I don't disappear for a little.

It is painful to watch my boy lose pieces of his mind as he slips ever deeper into dementia. He is near total blindness, and going deaf. His world grows darker and more silent. He saved my life more than thirteen years ago. My eyes are filled with tears. I need a break.

I remember when I was a child and these TV's first came out. Every time you fell asleep without turning it off they would boil over. We would put ice on the mess until it hardened. Then put it back in the TV. Life was harder then.

@LuckyMcGee Would not live another way. We are surrounded by bears, cougars, bobcats, and 3 separate coyote packs. Also wolves rarely. We have run off all but cougars and wolves. Cougars are on the trail cams. I protect the property and dogs by all means necessary. I am the first responder.

I see posts asking if people still use burn barrels. Here is mine. I shot this little video in slow motion on my pixel. Nothing exciting here. The beauty of the flames leaving the barrel is hypnotic to me. There is a little dog named Ruby doing a cameo.
