@davegordon14 I posted about this as well and was a bit shocked that he was going to take the 500K. Years ago I remember him being a very successful businessman... I don't know what he's up to now but that's still way too much money for something like this.

You definitely can get an attorney to represent you and just pay them a flat fee if you find the house you like. I remember the attorney's not going to do all the other hand holding stuff in terms of inspections and things like that. Also it's easier now to negotiate a lower percentage for a buyer's agent so you might be able to get something closer to say 1.5% rather than 2.5%

@Nobuenoputa Again, if something costs $1.02 it rounds DOWN so overall the average impact is net zero. But this change has not been made... It's just how they do it in Canada in case we get to that point and follow their example.

Let's remember that there's no changes being made right now other than they'll be less pennies in circulation. Also this doesn't stop prices from going up by one cent... It just means that if you happen to be paying with cash and with coins or expecting coins in return you don't get pennies back.

Wrong on multiple counts. It just means no more pennies will be made. If eventually they're aren't enough to give charge more than likely will do what they do in Canada which is a round up or down to the nearest nickel. Also it's not going to change any sort of bills.. if something is $103 .65 you'll still pay that same amount by card or check.
