I was on IRC in the mid 90s to early 2000s, had a Friendster account in 2003, MySpace in 2004 and Facebook in 2006. Also worked out those AOL and Yahoo chat rooms for a minute.
@atrupar
Remarkable moment.
Being on the verge of sending my almost-three-year-old son to school absolutely terrifies me.
I shouldn't be scared.
I should be excited, enthusiastic, and encouraging of his education. This is far from great, it's a gradual decline that started decades ago.

This was me with a Peruvian girl I dated before I met my wife, her and I didn’t really get along but she (and her mother) made AMAZING food.
I actually got along better with her mother than her haha.
@rparloff
The American public should have full transparency into every trial involving Trump so that neither side of the aisle can lie about what's actually happening.
Failure to televise any proceedings will be consequential to the future of our democracy.
And co-opting the legacy of millions for forged comments, including my deceased grandfather who somehow Rose from the dead to comment online in support of the repeal.
Ah yes, nothing like 5 unelected individuals deciding the freedoms of an entire nation. Free flow of information is critical to democracy and is also a recognized human right. Don’t sleep on this issue.

I don't normally do this but here goes:
My brother-in-law is in the hospital right now in a coma while battling COVID. Any thoughts prayers, good energy, well wishes, whatever you have, it all helps and we appreciate it.
Thank you.
@TheBlackNerd
I was a level-one support tech for a short time at a large Wall Street bank. I told one of the FAs that I needed to put him on a brief hold while logging a support ticket
He shouted: "Do you have any idea how important I am? You don't put me on hold!"
He was right, I hung up.
@USArmy
My father served in Vietnam and almost died there from malaria, which somehow saved his life because a week after he was airlifted out to a hospital, his firebase was overrun by Vietcong and everyone was killed.
Survivor's guilt from that and other incidents left him with PTSD
My father just passed away. It was from old age, not coronavirus, but the pandemic kept me from being able to see him during his final hours
As sad as I am, my heart is broken over my brother having to go through all of this alone at his bedside
I'm fucking shattered right now
My wife and I both tested positive for
#COVID19
.
We have been wearing masks and gloves and taking all the necessary precautions. Not sure how we got
#coronavirus
.
I have a mild case - just headaches, nausea and fatigue. My wife has worse symptoms but should be okay, docs said.
@AdrianCJax
All about this energy. I owe my entire career to this platform, a significant portion of my support structure, and some of my best friends.
It literally crushes me, what he's done.

That's a false dilemma fallacy.
If anything, rent control enables people to pursue better opportunities through the knowledge that basic expenses will not spiral out of control and they can take calculated risks with greater potential upside.
It's been a year since my father passed away, alone in a nursing home because no one could see him due to the pandemic
He never got the proper funeral or sendoff he deserved
We never got to say goodbye or have any closure
We know we aren't the only ones, but it's still hard
Okay. Here's a quick economics lesson, Mr. President. The Fed raises rates during an expansion because they keep the economy from overheating and then crashing.
Unless you want a repeat of the Roaring 20s and the Great Depression, you want rates to rise. K thx bye
....The United States should not be penalized because we are doing so well. Tightening now hurts all that we have done. The U.S. should be allowed to recapture what was lost due to illegal currency manipulation and BAD Trade Deals. Debt coming due & we are raising rates - Really?
My wife and I are leaving a cushy, stable situation and relocating to Puerto Rico as May 1.
A year of Zoom meetings, quarantines and raising our newborn son made us rethink how we want to live and we realized if we don't do this now, when will we.
