Fucking FINALLY got egpu working on AMD usb4 in Linux on Wayland on Gpd win max 2 fully working without the GPU powering off a few minutes into the game!!!! It seems a few kernel parameters were needed to enforce pcie gen 3. Wooo!

Seems the EAC .so library was added to New World, appears to work so far. Launcher hangs. I've added a workaround to launch the game without the launcher in GE-Proton7-12

Just a PSA: If you plan on gaming on linux and want to play dx12/vkd3d titles, don't go with pascal or lower GPUs. I've been running some tests on elden ring for $200ish budget used cards. 1060 6gb gets around 45fps -with- fsr. The older AMD R9 390 8gb can do 1080p60. video soon

A lot of people tend to go to Ubuntu or Arch based distros. Ubuntu ships stuff that is usually too old out of the box, & Arch ships stuff that isn't tested well enough & breaks regularly.
Give Fedora + rpmfusion repos a try, add 1 or 2 copr repos. That's all you really need.

at grub menu press e, then add this to the linux kernel command line and press ctrl+x to execute:
systemd.debug-shell=1
when you get to the login gui press ctrl+alf+f9, itll drop you into a root prompt without needing your password. you can then reset passwords for whatever user

Um wow. The gdp win max 2 worked with Nobara ootb. Everything working, touchscreen, Bluetooth, wifi, even the controllers and even the keyboard function keys. I just installed gears 5 and proton ge on it and boom done.

WHELP. Figured out how to make the nvidia drivers work in the live ISO environment and install them as part of the regular install. No more nomodeset jankery or people who cant boot the nobara ISO on nvidia \o/
