Pride grew out of the Stonewall riots against police repression and in Toronto in the rebellions against the police arrests in the bath raids. In 1981 we chanted "No More Shit!" against the police and right-wing and in 2023 we chant it against the police, and right-wing/fascists.

I was there this morning as a supporter/ally and had to endure disgusting verbal abuse from former Jewish Defence League (JDL)/now Israel Now supporters. In particular once they realized our "No Pride in Genocide" banner meant we were queer we faced horrible anti-queer abuse!
Oh the irony. While peace activists are arrested for protesting complicity in war crimes, these thugs openly incite violence against fellow Jews with impunity.
