@SirSocks
But you didn't, did you? What you did is: throw away the May deal with no barriers GB-NI or NI-IE, renegotiate a WA to include the NIP, win an 80-seat majority on the "oven ready deal", THEN sign the treaty & push it through Parliament.
Quite the fit of absent-mindedness, no? 🤨

A better observation may be how the fatuous Tory decision to ban onshore wind and solar generation is working out. Imagine if the last 12 years had been spent mandating solar panels on every new house, warehouse or office, and retrofitting every council house or block?
@AllisterHeath
Y'know, if 50%+ of your own country, 3 of the 4 constituent parts of the UK, and every foreign state bar Russia despises Brexit as nonsensical in principle and calamitous in practice, y'might want to check your understanding of the word "elite". 😉👍🏻

You couldn't see Deliveroo for dust when Spain ruled that delivery riders are employees and must be paid for all their time. They - like Uber & Airbnb - are "disrupters" only in the sense that you or I could equally "disrupt" the market if we drop standards & underpay our people.

Those aren't "next door countries" though.

Not so much Brexit itself as the authoritarianism the Government has permitted itself since. I have to tell you:

Man, you need to read the WA, that the UK co-wrote, which was the "oven ready deal" that Johnson used to win the election ("Get Brexit Done").

I think the damage is much graver. Sunsk is the 5th Prime Minister in a row to either break international law, or threaten to do so, or make drastic policy changes that up-end industry plans. So, the warning that is now firmly "out there" is that the UK itself cannot be trusted.

I say "if you really want to know" because once you know it you can't un-know it. You have to live with knowing these people act with impunity, have done for decades, and will do forever. They will never be prosecuted & their victims will never have justice. It's the British way.

My favourite bit: in the space of 2 consecutive sentences, we go from "...some Loyalists have now concluded it may only be violence that can get rid of the border in the Irish Sea" to "While the Unionist Community is law-abiding...".

Take a look at the stunning economic growth in Ireland since the Single Market was created in the early 1990s. Look at how much it exports to the EU, and what those exports are. Look at how the UK has dropped below 8% share.
