@Lortizuriarte @VirginiaClimate @GMU_COS This is cool. Just curious any materials related with the wind speed simulation, as described in the figure of the flyer.

@AmandaSteinberg In cities, actually the shade is more important. Green space may moderate the regional climate, but not as much as the shade.

Heat map is available on @neighborfacts mobile app now. I will try to add hyperlocal level heat info there, also more climate hazards information.
Neighborhood Facts have new layer included. We have the neighborhood heat information in US. We will have 1m resolution heat information in near future. Thanks to @GIS_jiang for making it possible. Thank you for your subscription and support.

Using meter-resolution urban 3D model from @Microsoft Planetary Computer, I don't need to spend a huge amount of time on downloading and processing LiDAR data from @USGS locally using tools like PDAL @pointcloudpipe
It is amazing to see meter-level resolution digital surface model can be easily accessed on @Microsoft Planetary Computer. You don't need to download the LiDAR from @USGS and process them locally, which takes a loooong time.

Thank for featuring my NSF project of pedestrian level heat modeling and mapping,
A new #NSFfunded study maps and models heat exposure in Philadelphia down to a resolution of 1 meter — key to understanding which areas and populations within the city are at greater risk during extreme heat events. 📹: @GIS_jiang, @Penn

Paper alert! Our paper on sensitivity and vulnerability to summer heat in US cities. We generated 1m resolution #UTCI in current weather and 1 degree higher scenarios. For visualization, check our project of HeatExpo, @biometeors
