Developers in Portland have built 1,400 new missing middle housing units in its historically low-density residential neighborhoods the past three years alone. That's like building 11 new apartment buildings into single-family neighborhoods without many people noticing.

@BreRVA it's a project of the US global change research program, which is a collaboration between something like 13 Federal agencies + authors from universities, research shops, and nonprofits. The authors are volunteers but the staff from USGCRP are Federal contractors.
