It’s not easy to understand but it is coherent. The action is undisputedly top tier and so is the music, cinematography, and acting. All of this makes it incredibly re watchable and by your 3rd to 5th time is indisputably a masterpiece.

Eh in the case of the last two avengers movies I really appreciate it as the directors intentional framed and shot the movie in this “IMAX” aspect ratio. They were later disappointed to here it would be cropped for all non IMAX releases, including 4K Blu-rays

LLMs are good at answering questions with historical context to draw on, changing the premise of a popular riddle just slightly tests if they have real logic, or are only repeating back the training data!

For instance the latest Suicide Squad movie was shot in the “IMAX” exclusive aspect ratio and was marketed as such. But it was still left un-cropped on non IMAX releases. So it’s nice to see this restored version of Avengers become available to people like me who care

Its all about whos behind the camera. The right director/dp combo can make anything look amazing regardless of gear. That being said I will always be able to tell the difference between film and digital, IMAX 65 especially, but this isnt an excuse for the appearance of modern MCU

Ehrlich’s a really smart guy who seems to care a lot about Dune.
I just think his standards are way too high for what can reasonably be pulled from a production so inherently calibrated to drama at galactic scale.
Movies can never be books & massive productions can’t be indie
Denis Villeneuve introduces Austin Butler's character in a hideous, monochromatic fight sequence that so clumsily literalizes the film’s black-and-white moral binary that it feels like a detour into a Zack Snyder movie.

The workflow between concept artists, set design, cinematography, and cg needs to be incredibly tight nit with constant care from the director. Very few films can pull it off but DUNE is the latest one that comes to mind. The film often looks 1:1 with art and sometimes better!

The whole movie just has a really refreshing grip on emotional authenticity.
Gotta watch in Dolby Cinema 3D, IMAX 3D is next best but not as good
